Sigandur is a beautiful place surrounded by back water of River Sharavathi from three sides and green trees of Western Ghats. Sigandur is famous for the temple, known as Sigandur Chowdeshwari Temple also worshiped as Sigandureshwari Temple.
Sigandur is situated in Sagara Taluk of Shivamogga district. The temple is 41 Kms from the Taluk place Sagara. History of Sigandur Temple takes back to 300 years ago when the temple was initially built and started worshiping Mother Chowdeshwari. People has very strong faith, there is a belief that many problems of individual being resolved here.
Every year during the Makara Sankranti day, annual festival would be celebrated, devotees from various parts of India visit the temple and special functions would be held. Accommodation is available at the temple premises in limited number. Food also provided by the temple for visitors. Daily Pooja Timings: Morning: 3:30 AM - 7:00 AM & 8:00AM - 2:30PM Evening: 5:30 PM – 7:30 PM. During the Amavasye & Hunnime, morning Pooja starts from 3 AM to 5AM and again from 7:30 AM to 2:30 PM, there will not be an evening Pooja on these occasions.

Private and public transport facilities are available from Sagara, Shimoga and Bhatkal. From Sagara and Shimoga, buses play for every half an hour during the day time. The launch (Barge) facility to cross the backwater will be available only till 5 pm every day. Only road way to reach Sigandur is via Kollur and Nagodi
