Kutch Natural Dyes

The story
The women of this Kutch self-help group embroider some of the finest suf and khaarek work in India — but dye their base cloth with cheap chemical colours that fade in a season and irritate the skin. This campaign brings a master natural-dyer to the village for a year of hands-on workshops in indigo, madder and pomegranate, and sets up a small shared dye-house the women will own and run themselves.

Halfway, and finding our rhythm
The mid-point review is in. Attendance has held strong, the first pieces are finished, and the community has asked to extend one of the sessions. We have submitted photographs and a short film to the Sanchaari review team so the next tranche can be released against evidence.
