Terms of Use

Sanchaari connects cultural communities with the markets that value their work. We name every maker, record every origin and publish every share. When you buy, bid, book or contribute through Sanchaari, you are dealing both with us and, in most cases, directly with a named maker, community or partner organisation.

“Sanchaari”, “we” and “us” mean the entity operating this platform. “You” means anyone who visits or transacts on it.

You agree to use Sanchaari lawfully and in good faith. In particular, you will not:

• Misrepresent your identity, or a piece, maker or community;
• Copy, scrape or resell our register data, images or provenance records without permission;
• Interfere with the integrity of the provenance ledger, or attempt to bypass authentication or role controls;
• Use the platform to launder funds, evade sanctions, or breach export or cultural-property law.

We may suspend or remove any account that breaches these terms, and we will tell you why where we lawfully can.

Some parts of Sanchaari require an account and an approved role — collector, maker, trade buyer, partner organisation or experience host. Applications are reviewed by our team. Approval is at our discretion and can be withdrawn if the conditions that supported it change. You are responsible for keeping your credentials safe and for activity under your account.

Makers set their own prices. Prices are shown in Indian rupees; any other currency is indicative, converted at a rate snapshotted on your order. Placing an order is an offer to buy, which is accepted when we confirm and the maker accepts the fulfilment.

Because these are handmade works, small natural variations are a feature, not a fault. Where a piece is made to order, the maker completes it at the pace of the hand and we keep you updated through the Thread of Days.

Every documented piece carries a Provenance Record — an honest, tamper-evident record of its making and custody. A record is evidence of documentation by Sanchaari; it is not a guarantee of future value, and it does not transfer intellectual-property rights, which remain with the maker or community. Designs, images, stories and cultural knowledge belong to the makers and communities who create and carry them. Nothing here transfers those rights to Sanchaari or to buyers. The Sanchaari name, mark and platform are ours. You may not reproduce them without written permission.

We take care to describe every piece and record accurately, but the platform is provided “as is”. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, and our total liability for any order is limited to the amount you paid for it. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts of Hyderabad have exclusive jurisdiction, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer-protection rights you have where you live.

We may update these terms as Sanchaari grows. When we make a material change we will update the date above and, where appropriate, tell you directly. Continuing to use the platform means you accept the current terms.
