Campaign Terms
Campaigns fund a craft's next generation — a kiln, a season of training, a natural-dye workshop. These terms explain how your contribution is handled, who issues your receipt, and what happens if a campaign does not reach its goal.

Who receives your contribution
Every campaign is run by a named partner organisation on behalf of a named community. Your contribution is received for that partner — a registered trust, society, Section 8 company or cooperative — and not by Sanchaari. Tax receipts, where eligible, are issued by the partner, not by Sanchaari. The partner’s registration is shown on each campaign page.
Contributions are not investments
A contribution supports a cultural project. It is a donation toward a published budget and set of outcomes — never a financial investment, a loan or a purchase of equity, and it carries no expectation of monetary return. Where a campaign offers acknowledgements or a piece in return, that is described in the tier.
Flexible and all-or-nothing funding
Each campaign declares its funding model when it is created:
- Flexible — the partner keeps what is raised even if the goal is not fully met, and applies it to the same purpose;
- All-or-nothing — if the goal is not reached by the deadline, contributions are refunded in full through the original payment method.
The model in force is shown clearly on every campaign page.
Milestones and how funds are released
Funds are released to partners against milestones. The partner submits evidence — photographs, receipts, a short report — and our team releases the next tranche once it is satisfied. This keeps money tied to outcomes, and you can follow progress through the field reports on the campaign.
Community ownership and consent
Where a project documents knowledge, recordings, designs or stories, those remain owned by the community. Every partner signs a community-ownership and consent declaration before a campaign goes live. Nothing a campaign produces transfers a community’s cultural rights to Sanchaari or to any contributor.
Foreign contributions and CSR
Contributions from any foreign source, in any currency, are accepted only for partners that have an FCRA registration recorded, and after a source-of-funds declaration. Corporate CSR funding is accepted only for partners with a CSR-1 number recorded. See the CSR page for how corporate giving works.
Refunds
Refunds occur automatically when an all-or-nothing campaign does not meet its goal. If you believe a contribution was made in error, contact us promptly and we will work with the partner to resolve it fairly.
